About Prairie Fire Theatre

Prairie Fire Theatre
Prairie Fire Theatre is a unique musical experience. The brainchild of local artist Robert Mangialardi, Prairie Fire is a theatrical group dedicated to bringing professional first-rate musical theatre and light opera to the local community. Prairie Fire has staged three to four musical theatre events each year since incorporating in 1998, and has produced the works of such artists as Gilbert and Sullivan, Sondheim, Gershwin, and Irving Berlin. All Prairie Fire events are performed and directed by local talent, drawing from a largely untapped but highly skilled pool of professional artists. The majority of Prairie Fire performances are held on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University, but the company prides itself in taking musical theatre to non-traditional community settings. Under a unique rent-a-theatre program Prairie Fire is also available to provide its unique ambiance to organizational, business, educational, or private events. Prairie Fire also is available as an educational resource, willing to work with schools to promote musical theatre and to provide an outlet for original works of local artists.

Mission Statement
